The WaldFunkeln LODGE – my favorite place in the Black Forest- is a true oasis in Hinterzarten. The LODGE offers 13 unique apartments in the Black Forest. They are truely exceptionel, unique and nonchalant- just like our guests. The apartments close to Feldberg, Titisee and Freiburg are the ideal place to be during your trip through our ‘Heimat’.
The WaldFunkeln is a place for all who love a natural, true and sincere atmosphere. The Black Forest is a magical place we would love to show you. Our holiday apartments in Hinterzarten, in the heart of the Black Forest are the starting point for your adventours. Take a trip to Feldberg, Ravennaschlucht, Schluchsee or one of our favorite places! The possiblities are endless. Take a chance and discover an environment which energizes and presents you with space to breathe and stay individual.
Sustainability
Being sustainable is essential for us, We care to preserve our nature, our home for coming generations. Therefore we cool and heat the entire LODGE with geothermal energy and produce our own power with a cogeneration unit.
WiFi
Yes, we do offer free WiFi all over the LODGE.
Backpack
In each apartments a backpack is available to you for the duration of your stay with us. It has enough space for all you need during your adventures through the Black Forest.
Pets
We love dogs! Please bring yours along if you can. There are several apartments in which your pets can stay comfortably with you.
There is also a designated shower (cold and warm water) for dogs at the LODGE.
Families
The LODGE is a wonderful place for families. The apartments offer enough space for all, and there is so much to see and discover close by and far from the WaldFunkeln that it never gets boring.
Bike
Want to mountainbike? GREAT idea! There are endless options for your tours starting directly at the LODGE.
We have a spacious bike room where you can store your equipment during your stay with us.
Sauna
Care to sauna? Sure you do! At the LODGE you will find a finnish sauna, a steam room and 2 infra red seats. Naturally, there is also a room to relax and an outside area with shower.
Co-Working
Need to work? No problem! Take a seat in our Co-Working Space, feel free to roam the garden or relax in a swing while working on your next project.
Ski
Here to ski, snowboard, snowshoe? Wonderful. There are several ski resorts close to the LODGE. Of course this is also the place to do some cross country skiing.

More the tobogganing type? Cool! Take a 1,2 km downward ride from Saig to Titisee! Or enjoy the ride down the many slopes in Hinterzarten.
